A férfiak számára legtöbbször tabutémának számító prosztataproblémákról
A teremtés koronái úgy vélik, nagyobb fizikai erejük miatt nem kell túl sok figyelmet fordítaniuk az egészségükre, ami többnyire lehetetlenné teszi a betegség korai felismerését. Ugyanakkor a legtöbb férfi fél orvoshoz fordulni. Gyakran a büszkeség tartja távol őket a rendelőtől, még maguknak sem szívesen vallják be, ha baj van.
„Urológiára? Nem!” – mondja határozottan a férfiak többsége. Pedig segítség csak a büszkeséget legyőzve érkezhet. A struccpolitika, az orvosi vizsgálat „tologatása” a komolyabb betegség kialakulásának legfőbb táptalaja. Ha a beteg nem fordul időben szakemberhez, az egyre jobban előrehaladó prosztata megnagyobbodás vagy prosztatarák akár már visszafordíthatatlan következményekkel is járhatnak.
Szeretnénk felhívni a veszélyeztetett korosztály, azaz az ötven év feletti férfiak figyelmét arra, hogy éljenek a szűrővizsgálat lehetőségével. Az elmúlt években új módszerek, új gyógyszerek segítségével kezelik a betegeket. Ugyanakkor a hölgyekhez is szólunk: ha kell, fogják meg párjuk kezét és vigyék el urológushoz!
A prosztatarák a „megszelídíthető” daganatok közé tartozik: ma már az előrehaladott stádiumban is van lehetőség olyan korszerű kezelésre, amelynek segítségével a daganat további növekedése, terjedése lassítható és a beteg életminősége kedvezően befolyásolható.
Magyarországon a statisztikai adatok szerint évente a prosztata megnagyobbodás tüneteivel mintegy 400 ezer férfi szorul kezelésre. A probléma nagyságát jelzi, hogy a 30-40 éves férfiak 10-25 százalékát, az 50 év feletti férfiak 50 százalékát, a 70 év felettiek 75 százalékát, a 80 év felettiek 90 százalékát érinti maga az elváltozás.
Minden harmadik férfinél jelentkezik kisebb-nagyobb vizeletürítési, illetve vizelettartási probléma 50 éves kor felett. A kellemetlen tünetek leggyakoribb oka a prosztata jóindulatú megnagyobbodása. A jelentkező tünetek – a vizelési nehézségek megnehezítik az apák, nagyapák napjait, s így az egész család hangulatát. Ezért is fontos, hogy hatékony, megbízható terápiával enyhüljenek a tünetek, s a férfiak újra jó közérzettel, aktívan részt vehessenek a mindennapok eseményeiben, élvezhessék az élet nyújtotta örömöket.
A prosztatarák lefolyása igen hosszú, sőt hosszú ideig nem okoz tünetet, panaszt és a beteg életminősége sokáig nem romlik. Ugyanakkor előrehaladott stádiumban már okozhat vérvizelést, fájdalmas vizeletürítést, és minden olyan tünetet, amit az igen gyakori, de szerencsére jóindulatú prosztata megnagyobbodás is okoz. Az áttétes stádiumban már csontfájdalmak uralják a képet.
A prosztatavizsgálattól egyik férfinak sem kell tartania. Az ilyenkor szokásos fizikális vizsgálat valamint az úgynevezett PSA vizsgálat adhat esélyt a hosszú életre. A PSA-nak köszönhető hogy a prosztatarák átlagosan 5 évvel korábban felismerhető nem beszélve arról, hogy a diagnózis idején a daganat még többnyire gyógyítható stádiumban van. Tehát minden 50 év feletti férfinek – tünetmentesség esetén is – minden évben ajánlatos elmenni egy vizsgálatra!
