A Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. hatodik alkalommal tartotta meg hagyományos országos szemétszedő akcióját 2010. április 22-én. A Föld napja alkalmából szervezett eseményre az elmúlt évhez hasonlóan ismét csaknem ötvenezer önkéntes jelentkezett. A rendezvény az elmúlt három évben az ország egyik legtöbb önkéntest megmozgató környezetvédelmi mozgalmává nőtte ki magát.
A Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. hatodik alkalommal szervezi meg országos szemétgyűjtési akcióját az általa üzemeltetett 30 ezer kilométeres közúthálózat és környezetének megtisztítására. A társaság idén is a Föld napján, április 22-én, csütörtökön rendezi meg szokásos tavaszi szemétszedési akcióját. A csaknem 50 ezer önkéntes az ország több száz pontján gyűjti majd a szemetet az utak mellől. A közútkezelő főszervezőként, az esemény gazdájaként minden csatlakozó számára térítés nélkül biztosít kesztyűt és láthatósági mellényt, valamint gondoskodik az összegyűjtött hulladék maradéktalan elszállításáról is. Az utak menti szemétszedéshez a cég szakmai felügyeletet is ad, szükség esetén ideiglenes forgalomkorlátozást vezet be.
A Közút egész évben végzett szemétszállítási munkája az utak mentén az utóbbi időben sajnos szélmalomharcnak tekinthető, ugyanis az illegális szemétlerakók napról napra szaporodnak. A társaság évente egy kisebb megyeszékhely éves kommunális hulladékának megfelelő mennyiségű szemetet gyűjt össze az általa üzemeltetett utak mellől. Ebben a küzdelemben is szeretne a cég szemléletváltozást elérni. „Szemétgyűjtési akcióink célja, hogy a fiatalabb generációnak is természetessé váljon a környezet megóvása. Az akció megszervezésével a társaság hozzá kíván járulni ahhoz, hogy az a több ezer ember, többségükben fiatalok, akik részt vesznek a szemétgyűjtésben, később jobban odafigyeljenek szűkebb és tágabb környezetük megóvására” – mondta Zsupponits Jenő, a társaság vezérigazgatója.
